Business & Tech Bloggers' Event by Mustard Seed

I was very fortunate to be invited on this “Business & Tech Bloggers’ Event” last September 29, 2016, held at Limbaga 77 Café Restaurant.  This turned out to be a very informative and fruitful gathering despite the bad weather outside.

Learning based on other people’s experience is best! And to be given a chance to listen to Ms. Chay’s blogging tips is such an opportunity that every blogger would not want to miss out!.

Ms Chay Lazaro is currently the Creative Director of Gadgetmatch, and also the co-founder of Sacola PH. Kudos to her for unselfishly sharing to us what she does best!  I definitely learned a lot from her talk, the three C’s… Content, Creativity and Consistency, the importance of visuals, even the perfect timing. It’s an afternoon packed with learning, fun and networking.

Four Tech partners joined Mustard Seed on this initiative. They were ACER, Cyberpower,  Ncomputing and  Quickbooks Online.  I got to learn the latest technology updates and product offerings from each of them.

ACER presented their newest commercial and consumer laptops, the Travelmate B117, Travelmate P648 and the first laptop under a centimeter thick (9.98mm), Ultrabook Swift 7

They presented Swift 7 with a twist, coming out from a long brown envelope not from a laptop sleeve or bag!

Travelmate B117 boasts with new features such as spill resistant keyboard , a hinge that lets you tilt the screen back 180 degrees so it lies flat against a desk or table, and a color coded indicator LED serving as battery meter.  While the P648 model, also spill resistant, comes with new Face Log in access tool and Fingerprint Reader features to keep your data more secured.

Looking for an alternative to established business laptop brands, consider ACER. It’s real value for your money!  I am using one ACER notebook for 5 years now and so far, it never failed me.

Cyberpower presented next. Cyber Power Systems (USA), Inc., is a global leader in power protection and management products for home offices, small and medium-sized businesses and enterprise organizations. They supply UPS and EPS. UPS stands for Unterruptible Power Supply while EPS means Emergency Power Systems. UPS power supply was mainly targeted at the computer and network equipment, usually provides backup power for 5 to 10 minutes maximum, while EPS can continue to supply power for more than 10 minutes.

To experience is to believe, try CYBERPOwER UPS & EPS! It can overPOWER the existing brand you are using!  For product inquiries, please contact: (02) 535 7333 or

NComputing is the FASTEST growing desktop virtualization company in the world today. DepEd is their largest client. They have deployed Ncomputing units in all the regions in the Philippines.

I have first-hand experienced on this product and I loved it!  We are using them in our school for 4 years now. Their technology is tried and tested to deliver cost efficiency to users. We got significant savings on electricity consumption and our maintenance costs went down by an estimated 75%.

our Ncomputing setup

We piloted it first in our main campus and since we are satisfied with its performance, we also deployed them in the rest of our campuses.  Instead of using 4 individual desktop PC sets in our faculty lounges, we opted to used ncomputing 4-in-1 units.

No doubt DepEd has chosen them over the rest of the options available in the market. Space saver, economical and durable! Can’t wait to try their latest model!

And finally, an Accounting System on the cloud. Isn’t it great news that you can now take your books and journals with you wherever you work? Quickbooks Online (QBO) is considered one of the best, if not the best software for Small and Medium Businesses and Enterprises. It’s easy to use  and is very affordable. The one-user plan is perfect for sole proprietors who do their accounting themselves. See why SMEs in the Philippines love Quickbooks Online, click here,
