FitFil challenge: Get high on fitness, not on drugs!

There's no better way to celebrate the National Students Day than this #FitFilYouthAgainstDrugs celebration held last November 16 at the SM by the Bay MOA open grounds.

What is FitFilYouthAgainstdrugs by the way?

FitFilYouthAgainstdrugs is a project of the National Youth Commission aimed to drive the focus of the younger generation, to Fitness instead of drugs. It's something like, YES to fitness, NO to drugs campaign.

Exercise, according to research, is a powerful tool to shoo away individuals from drugs. It also makes us healthy and fit. By being fit, we can be spared from cardio and respiratory diseases, diabetes and even cancer.

Since FITNESS is one of the objective, Coach Jim and Toni is the perfect flagbearers spearheading this campaign. Coach Jim relates that it is their objective (through the Fit Filipino Movement) to get the whole country fitter and healthier by donating "10M pounds of taba (fats)." The National Youth Commission (NYC) accepted the challenge and pledged 2 Million lbs of fats!

NYC chairperson Ryan Enriquez said, they partnered with Coach Jim and Toni, ABS-CBN, City Government of Pasay, DILG, Deped, CHED, and TESDA to be able to attain the maximum possible reach of this campaign.

With 42,045 barangays nationwide on his watch, Mr. Martin Dino, DILG undersecretary for barangay affairs also pledged his 101% support to this campaign. He'll take charge with the Barangay Captains and SK officials to adopt the program in their local barangays.

PNP on the other hand has accepted the challenge for them to field men in uniform as fitness trainors in some barangays. Around 300 local PNP men will do this job nationwide.

ABS-CBN Star Hunt Academy artists showed their support by entertaining the crowd and joining in the dance-exercise routines.

FitFilYouthAgainstDrugs is being supported by Novuhair, Andoks and JC Makati.

A campaign worth all the support!  Say YES to fitness, say NO to drugs!!!
